ESUT students protest movement to permanent site
Enugu - Students of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Enugu campus, on Monday marched through the streets to protest plans to move them to the permanent site of the institution in Agbani.
The students, who chanted war songs, said they were not ready to move until work on the permanent site was completed.
The students, who were of the Faculty of Management Sciences, also protested the construction of buildings in their compound by government officials who had been allocated the land.
Addressing the students later, the President of the Management Sciences Students Union, Mr Ogonna Aneke, condemned the erection of houses in front of the lecture halls, saying it was distracting them.
``I have personally called the Enugu State commissioner for land matters on this issue and he said that is not my business,” Aneke said.
Aneke also said the students would not relent until the government stopped work on the buildings.
