Five Star Music releases statement on Skiibii's rumoured death (please read)

I'm extremely cool with Soso Soberekon and Kcee so I really didn't expect them to get me involved in something like this. But they swear it's not a stunt and that when Soso confirmed Skiibii's death to me, they genuinely thought he was dead. But it took them 2 hours to find out he wasn't dead after all and called me back to say he was alive? *sigh*. Anyway, they just released a photo of Skiibii supposedly in a hospital receiving treatment with a statement...which you will find after the cut...and there's something else a LIB reader called my attention to. See for yourself and be the judge...

OFFICIAL STATEMENT, UPDATE ON SKIIBII'S CONDITION: 'SKIIBII COLLAPSED, ADMITTED BUT RECOVERING IN HOSPITAL

'We the entire Five Star Music received with great shock the news of the demise of our artiste in the person of Abbey Toyyib Elias a.k.a Skiibii. The wide spread rumor of Skiibii being dead that shook the airwaves and social media platforms this morning is confirmed false. The 22 year old talented musician signed to Five Star Music is fine and alive. Given that he had a minor health issue this morning, He collapsed and was rushed by his brother & his friends to a nearby hospital from where he was taken to a more equipped hospital by the intervention of the CEO of Five Star Group for further treatment. Skiibii is currently recuperating at a private hospital, Please disregard negative information hitherto passed. Death is not something to play with. Kcee and Five Star Manager Soso Soberekon are currently in Europe on a tour. On his suppose demise as confirmed by Five Star Music or the label's manager - At best, it was a miscommunication. The official social media accounts for future updates on every thing as regards the label, artistes and music are: @iam_KCEE, @iamMrSongz @Skiibii and @FiveStarMusicNG (on Instagram). Thank you for your concern and support.

This is a photo Soso posted of Skiibii on his instagram page two weeks ago

Five Star Music act Skiibii is not dead after all (kindly read this)

So this morning, I received a mail and a text message that Five Star Music artist Skiibii collapsed in his sitting room and died. And they sent me the photo above. The source said he'd dressed up and was going for his media rounds today when he suddenly fell and was unable to be revived. Because I know the guys at Five Star Music, I contacted them for confirmation. I actually called the music label's artist manager, Soso Soberekon, to confirm the news. Soso, who had already posted a candlelight image on his instagram page said he would call me back with confirmation, that they were just hearing about the incident, that he and Kcee were in Europe. He called me back at exactly 10.02am to confirm that Skiibii had passed on. So I carried the news...

But a few minutes ago (hours after I carried the news), Kcee called me to say Skiibii hadn't died. He said he received the news of his collapse this morning but said he wasn't sure what was going on because he was not in Nigeria. He said his brother told him Skiibii had been found with no pulse and wasn't breathing. They rushed him to the hospital and after hours there, he has been revived. Kcee told me he wanted me to be the first to announce he's back to life because I broke the news of his alleged death.

To be honest, I find this all very strange. Skiibii just released music and has been on the road for a week now promoting it. Someone said to me that all this could be a stunt...for him to trend (which he is - he's the number trending topic in Nigeria) and all media houses in Nigeria have carried his supposed demise.

If this is a stunt (Skiibii dropped a video just yesterday), then it's quite sad that they would go to this extent to make him known to Nigerians. I know a lot of Nigerian artists put up stunts, but to play with your life is sick! Extremely sick to fake your own death for fame and attention! But if it's not a stunt and he indeed woke from the dead, then I'm very happy for him.
Just for the record, Soso Soberekon confirmed Skiibii's death to LIB. He posted this this morning. (which he has since deleted)

Dangote Explains Why He Wants To Buy Arsenal Not A Nigerian Club

The business magnate was criticized in certain quarters, with some observers insisting he should have bought a domestic club and not look abroad.

However, speaking to a group of senior editors, Dangote said: “the issue is that if I buy all the Nigerian clubs, the Nigerian flags will continue to remain here. But buying Arsenal will take the Nigerian flag worldwide. Just like whenever Abrahamovich is mentioned, the name of his country, Russia comes up, everyone knows he’s Russian.”

The 58-year-old, who is the richest man in Africa, is worth $15.7billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index and was rebuffed in his attempts to buy a stake in the Gunners in 2010.

“I still hope, one day at the right price, that I’ll buy the team,” Dangote said in an interview on a flight between Addis Ababa and Lagos in May this year.

“I might buy it, not at a ridiculous price but a price that the owners won’t want to resist. I know my strategy.”

We have uncovered plots to malign Saraki, Ekweremadu – HURIWA .

If he is successful with a future bid, it would make him the first African owner of a club in England.

Man City set to sign Paul Pogba with British-record £71m

Paul Pogba is the most sought after player in Europe right now, Barcelona are favorites to sign the 22-year old French midfielder but they could only offer £57m.

This has paved way for Manchester City who are willing to break the British-record fee of £71m to get the services of the Juventus player.

According to the Sunday mirror, City are now the only club who are willing to meet Juventus’ £71m asking price as well as the player’s £240,000-a-week wage demands.

They will press ahead with securing Pogba’s services so that he can link up with Manuel Pellegrini’s men during a 14-day tour of Australia which begins this week.

If signed by Man city, we will witness a midfield pairing of Paul Pogba and Yaya Toure.

That is something to look forward to.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a record 23rd La Liga hat-trick as Real Madrid claimed a record equaling 18th straight win in all competitions at home to Celta Vigo on Saturday

Cristiano Ronaldo Tries an Audacious Bicycle Kick Against Celta Vigo. Image: Getty. The Portuguese converted a spot kick for Real’s opener, powered home a fierce volley for his second and then arrived at the back post to finish Marcelo’s cross for his 200th La Liga goals-28 shy of Raul’s record tally for the Los Merengues in the Spanish Primera Division, in his 178th appearance. The win saw Real move four points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid, who earlier in the day defeated Elche, at the top of the standings, with 36 points from 14 matches. They have now matches the Spanish record set by Barcelona under Frank Rijkaard between October 2005 and January 2006. Ronaldo now leads joint-second pair of Alfredo di Stefano and Telmo Zarra, and fourth-ranked Lionel Messi in the list of all-time highest hat-trick scorers in La Liga. Real were not at their best against mid-table Celta , who also had their own fair share of possession, but with another three points in the kitty and records tumbling at the Santiago Bernebeu; who said they needed to be imperious? Atletico moved up to second with a 2-0 win at Elche earlier on Saturday. Barcelona can leapfrog the reigning champions and close in on leaders Real back to two points when they host Espanyol on Sunday.

63 Senators Have Signed To Impeach Jonathan

Many Senators are vexing! The level of impunity in the land under Goodluck Jonathan has reached an all time high and the heads of the security agencies are trampling on the laws, disrespecting lawmakers. Already 63 senators have now signed up to the plan to impeach President Jonathan in the upper legislative chamber as of Thursday. One of the arrowheads of the move to remove Jonathan in the Senate showed a Punch correspondent the list containing the signatures of the 63 senators who have signed the impeachment notice. In fact, eight PDP senators are among the Senators that signed to impeach Jonathan. There are 109 members in the Senate. A top APC senator from North-West zone told Punch that the lawmakers’ major grouse was the President’s handling of the economy and political affairs of the country. The senator cited poor implementation of the national budget since 2011, alleged high level of corruption and “gross disregard” of the legislature at both the federal and state levels as topping the list of lawmakers’ anger against Jonathan. Asked if he realised the process of impeachment could be tedious and cumbersome, the senator said: “We know and we are prepared to show the President that we have responsibility to the people and the nation in general. We are prepared to lay the impeachment notice anytime from next week. Meetings are already being held.” Senator Ibrahim Musa (APC Niger North) confirmed that there were moves by some members of the Senate to initiate impeachment proceedings against the President. PUNCH learnt that the impeachment move against the President had really gained momentum with the APC senators mobilising themselves to carry out the exercise anytime from next week. - See more at: http://www.naijaloaded.com.ng/2014/11/28/see-gobe-63-senators-signed-impeach-jonathan/#sthash.AeTYfg6W.dpuf
