63 Senators Have Signed To Impeach Jonathan

Many Senators are vexing! The level of impunity in the land under Goodluck Jonathan has reached an all time high and the heads of the security agencies are trampling on the laws, disrespecting lawmakers. Already 63 senators have now signed up to the plan to impeach President Jonathan in the upper legislative chamber as of Thursday. One of the arrowheads of the move to remove Jonathan in the Senate showed a Punch correspondent the list containing the signatures of the 63 senators who have signed the impeachment notice. In fact, eight PDP senators are among the Senators that signed to impeach Jonathan. There are 109 members in the Senate. A top APC senator from North-West zone told Punch that the lawmakers’ major grouse was the President’s handling of the economy and political affairs of the country. The senator cited poor implementation of the national budget since 2011, alleged high level of corruption and “gross disregard” of the legislature at both the federal and state levels as topping the list of lawmakers’ anger against Jonathan. Asked if he realised the process of impeachment could be tedious and cumbersome, the senator said: “We know and we are prepared to show the President that we have responsibility to the people and the nation in general. We are prepared to lay the impeachment notice anytime from next week. Meetings are already being held.” Senator Ibrahim Musa (APC Niger North) confirmed that there were moves by some members of the Senate to initiate impeachment proceedings against the President. PUNCH learnt that the impeachment move against the President had really gained momentum with the APC senators mobilising themselves to carry out the exercise anytime from next week. - See more at: http://www.naijaloaded.com.ng/2014/11/28/see-gobe-63-senators-signed-impeach-jonathan/#sthash.AeTYfg6W.dpuf

Aftermath Of Samklef Claims, Another Producer “Sarz” Fires Wizkid

Obviously the popstar and music sensation, Wizkid is not in good books of many people in the industry.
The Musician has been faced with lots of allegations ranging from bad attitude to being proud. It would be recalled that the pop star has had strings of beefs with other artistes which include Davido, female singer Saeon, and his ex-producer Samklef. However, this a new one. Another famed producer who they have worked together has voiced his annoyance and displeasure with the pop star saying ‘I don’t have his time anymore’. This was said by popular music Producer Sarz. Osabuohien Osaretin known as Sarz is the popular music producer who is responsible for the production of countless hit singles by Wizkid. The Edo state born music producer is responsible for songs like ‘samba’, ‘Jaiye Jaiye’, and several others. It was made known according to Netng that there has been a cold war between Sarz and Wizkid especially when Wizkid began to work more with other producers like Legendury Beatz and MaleekBerry. It however got worse when Saeon’s ex-manager Alex Adegbenro while narrating his version of the Saeon and Wizkid saga said: ‘And I remember he gave us a list of producers he could work with, he said it was either, Samklef, Sarz or Maleek Berry and we picked Sarz and then when he heard the beat Sarz made, he didn’t like it, so he called Sarz and was like ‘dude, you know my new sound, why do you keep making beats like this. So we went back the second time and Maleek Berry just laced a beat and the song happened like a freestyle’. This revelation did not obviously go down well with Sarz. So,earlier this week, during a twitter interview with Sarz,he was asked if he still produces beats for Wizkid’, and his reply was:- No Lol, I don’t have his time anymore’. Probing further, someone else asked, ‘but you produced his hennesy artistry song?’ and Sarz replied saying, ‘Because 2baba begged me’. When asked what Wizkid really did to him, Sarz said, ‘Hmmnn so much I can’t say it all’. Well, when a fan hinted that both stars might probably still work together in future, Sarz said, ‘he will have to beg me because it was painful’. Meanwhile, Wizkid’s 5-year contract with his current record label E.M.E would expire on December 1, 2014, and fans expect a great transition. It would be recalled that just few days ago, the music star made it known that he has had a crush on female singer, Chidinma for a long time.

It was gathered that the assemblymen coordinating the impeachment process have identified over 50 constitutional violations against the President, which would form part of the impeachment notice. A source within the House of Representatives, who made this known, said both chambers have resolved to work together for the common good of the country by impeaching President Jonathan for “incompetence, corruption and unprecedented impunity.” The source further explained that the impeachment plot against Jonathan was not a partisan affair, noting that lawmakers from all the political parties have identified with the cause and will not give up until the President is sent packing. “I’m sure you read the reports today that senators are going to move against Jonathan. He said he diagnosed with the disease in December 2013. “It never occurred to me to test myself because men have their separate test like women and I have heard people who lost very dear ones, closed ones. They just told me, ‘Prof, we hope you’re having your own?’ And I told them I had one 10 years ago and he said, “No, no, do it regularly.” And by accident in December last year, I discovered that I had cancer.”. Prof Soyinka who is cancer free now after undergoing a vigorous treatment that ended in October this year, said although he was uncomfortable speaking about his experience, he was obligated to speak about it now so as to get rid of the public perception that being diagnosed with cancer is a death sentence. “For me, this is not a decision which I like but I felt I have all obligation, being a member of African Cancer Centre, and also having even donated a performance during the festival, fund raising for cancer, I am under obligation to make it known and to also demystify cancer. Stephen Keshi still Nigeria’s Super Eagles National team Coach

NFF President, Amaju Pinnick said on live TV that Stephen Keshi was never sacked but was leaving the country to improve himself  Amidst rancour and mixed thoughts toward the position of Stephen Keshi as Super Eagles Coach, President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick has reconfirmed the two time AFCON winner as the chief in command of the senior national team. Pinnick appeared on live television where he maintained the stance of the NFF regarding the matter In the tell-it-all interview with a Channels TV correspondent, he spoke immensely on the players attitude and the way forward for Nigerian football An apologetic Pinnick apologised to Nigerians for the country’s failure to reach the tournament in Equatorial Guinea come 2015 However, stating categorically that he did not have a hand in the return of the 52 year-old to the team “The President of Nigeria did not have a say in the return of Keshi. I am a child of God, I don’t want to lie. “Keshi wasn’t sacked. He had a pending contract.  We said he was leaving the country to improve himself,’’ Pinnick clarified the dismissal of the coach after the first two games in the AFCON qualifier “Amodu appealed to the Federation on Keshi’s behalf….that was why he (keshi) returned.” Keshi was said to have told the NFF that if they wanted a foreign coach, they could as well get foreign players to represent the country, to that claim, Pinnick said: “Keshi didn’t lambast the NFF, I spoke with him yesterday… why should Keshi leave? “Did keshi lose concentration because he was sacked and brought back? No.” Speaking on players’ attitude, he said: “Did we lose AFCON because Keshi returned? I don’t think so. A coach can tell players something, but they do otherwise. “Players attitude, selection is something we want to work on.” Pinnick assures Nigerians that the federation is doing its best to build a new team of passionate players who would change the face of the game in Nigeria. “We are doing much towards having a new-look Super Eagles…there are players who are hungry, they are the ones we are looking for.

mass burial at the destroyed central mosque in Konduga Council Area on Wednesday, The gunmen were said to have stormed the town around 7 am. Damasak is a border town with Niger and 187 kilometres north of Maiduguri, the state capital. The gunmen, according to Multinational Joint Task Force (MJTF) sources in Maiduguri, also torched and looted several houses and shops, before the soldiers rushed to the border town by 11.45pm, yesterday. “I cannot give you the exact number of people killed today (yesterday) here in Damasak, but many people were killed while fleeing into the river and to Gashigar and Diffa towns for safety. The gunmen used IEDs and petrol bombs in attacking this town in the morning while most residents were still in their houses,” said the MJTF source, yesterday. Another account of the attack had it that the gunmen disguised as traders and opened fire at a crowded market in the town. A military officer, who had direct knowledge of the raid, told AFP that “the terrorists disguised as traders and opened fire on unsuspecting traders at a market in Damasak.” Another witness, Mohammed Damasak, who works with the local government, said the weapons were concealed in containers the gunmen brought to the market. “They pretended to be traders but sadly inflicted horror. Many traders escaped with bullet wounds while many are lying dead at the market,” he added. Confirming yesterday’s attack, Senator Maina Ma’aji Lawan said one of the border towns in the Borno North Senatorial District was attacked, yesterday, by suspected Boko Haram Islamic militants with many residents killed, while others fled to Niger and into River Kumadugu for safety. Lawan in telephone interview said: “The residents of Damasak, a border town with Niger, are in confusion with sporadic gunshots and looting of shops and houses. The reports I am receiving, as I speak, indicated that a lot of houses and shops there were set ablaze by insurgents that struck Monday morning. Most of the gunmen dressed in military uniform to disguise as Nigerian soldiers sent to protect Damasak, only to launch multiple attacks on this border town with a population of over 250,500. “The firing powers of the gunmen overwhelmed our soldiers in the MJTF, so what they did was to flee the town for safety like the residents that fled into Niger and river this morning.” The attack and killings in Damasak came barely 24 hours after the terrorists killed 48 fishermen and traders, weekend, at Doron Baga, 155 kilometres east of Damasak, the council headquarters of Mobbar in Borno State.

Ali made this statement yesterday in Ilorin, Kwara State, while inaugurating the vocational centre of the University of Ilorin Students’ Union, equipped by him.  “If anybody is planning to arrest Mr. Speaker, they should be ready to arrest over 100 legislators. We would follow him to the prison. If they won’t open the prison door, we would break it and go inside. “If they are arresting the Speaker, they should be prepared; we would all go in there.
