Return Of The Special One: Jose Mourinho Officially Appointed Chelsea Manager For 4yrs
Jose Mourinho has signed a deal to become the new Chelsea manager, according to a report in the Sun newspaper.
Mourinho and Chelsea have appeared destined to reunite for some time, with the Portuguese repeatedly dropping heavy hints about his future. The speculation was fuelled when it was confirmed Mourinho would be leaving Real Madrid, since when he has gone somewhat quiet.
Mourinho was seen at Wembley watching the Championship play-off final between Crystal Palace and Watford on Monday and The Sun is claiming that, during that visit to London, he signed a contract to take charge of the Blues.
The report claims Mourinho has put his name to a four-year contract worth £40 million, with ‘a senior Blues source’ quoted as saying: “It’s official. Jose is a Chelsea man again! Everyone is delighted he’s coming back – the club, the players and the fans. We are already looking forward to next season; we are sure it’s going to be very exciting.”
It is being claimed that Chelsea will unveil Mourinho as their new manager next week, following Madrid’s final game of the season against Osasuna this weekend.
Mourinho won six trophies when taking charge of Chelsea between 2004 and 2007.

Fashola Commissions Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, Cars To Pay N250 ,SUV’s N300 [PHOTOS]
As part of activities marking the nation’s Democracy Day and the commemoration of his sixth year administration in Lagos, Governor Babatunde Fashola, Wednesday, commissioned the newly completed 1.358 kilometres Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, Victoria Island, paying glowing tributes to late President Musa Yar’Adua for making the project a reality.
However, the bridge, believed to have cost a whopping N29 billion, will officially not be opened to the public till June 1, 2013.
Speaking at the commissioning witnessed by dignitaries including the former Secretary to the Federal Government, SGF, Mr. Yayale Ahmed, former Governor of Lagos state, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, Brigadier-General Mobolaji Johnson (rtd), Oba Rilwanu Akiolu, I, among others, Fashola, described late Yar’Adua as a statesman and not a politician.
Fashola announced that the bridge would be tolled and reeled out the cost per vehicles, saying that salon cars would pay N250; mini-vans, SUVs and light pick-up trucks, N300; non-commercial buses with maximum seating capacity of 26 persons, N400 and motorcycles, with 200cc capacity and above, N100.
“In addition, there is restriction on certain types of vehicles. For the avoidance of doubt, the following types of vehicles are prohibited from using this bridge, namely: commercial motorcycles, tricycles, commercial buses, including danfos and high capacity buses and heavy duty trucks, articulated trucks, lorries and such other categories,” he explained.
The governor said in order to ensure that the full savings in journey time was experienced by commuters, the government is racing to conclude the reconstruction of Glover Road later in the year to provide another choice of access to commuters who chose to use the bridge, adding that the bridge would fully be opened for use from 1 June, 2013.
Fashola said he expected that from now on, residents of Lekki who had no business in Victoria Island, would not need to go on to Ozumba Mbadiwe in order to cross to the Mainland, saying that “in the event they do, it will not be because they have no alternatives, it will be because they made a choice.
“In the future, we intend to complete the road from the 3rd roundabout through Admiralty Way to provide a choice and access to commuters from Ajah who are heading to the Mainland.”
MFM General Oversea, Dr D.K Olukoya Sued Over Demolition of Private Property In Defiance of Court Order

A Pentecostal sect, the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), its General Overseer, Daniel Olukoya, as well as its trustees have been joined in a suit claiming the church illegally demolished a landed property and forcibly evicted its residents in defiance of a court ruling. The demolished property was located at 6th Avenue, Plot 2, Prayer City, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, Magboro, Ibafo, Ogun State.
The plaintiffs identified a certain Pastor Frederick Olubunmi Alewi as the person who carried out the demolition on behalf of the church.
Report has it that Mr. Alewi disclosed that he obeyed the instructions of his “spiritual father,” Pastor Olukoya, in flouting a court order which had earlier asked for all parties to maintain the status quo while the case was heard by a judge.
On June 20, 2012, Justice Olarewaju Mabekoje of the Ogun State High Court had issued an injunction ordering both the church and the inhabitant of the disputed property, Mr. Oshodi, to maintain the status quo pending the court’s final determination. However, Mr. Alewi reportedly flouted the order when he supervised the demolition of the property from December 4 to 6.
The affected resident said the property was worth several millions. He is demanding that the church pay him N29.6 million as the value of the demolished structure. Mr. Oshodi has also accused members of the church of making threats on his life.
In the suit, the displaced resident is also seeking a perpetual injunction barring the church or its agents from any further actions on the land.
Meanwhile, court bailiffs have also complained that, ever since the property was demolished by the church, Pastor Alewi had prevented them from serving him papers.
One of the court bailiffs, Mr. Adesanya, said he made two visits in January to Pastor Alewi’s residence located at House 10, 1st Avenue, Prayer City as well as his office at the administrative department of the church, but was evaded.
The prosecutor stated that Mr. Alewi had instructed the church’s security staff not to allow the bailiff access to his office.
The court adjourned to June 3, 2013 for resumption of the lawsuit.

DStv subscriber sues MultiChoice for R302 000
Cape Town – A DStv subscriber in Nigeria is suing the satellite pay-TV operator MultiChoice for R300 000 (N5 000 000) and an apology, after being disconnected although his account wasn’t in arrears.
In a case before the high court in Abuja, a DStv subscriber is suing DStv over alleged breach of contract, claiming he was disconnected although his subscription to the pay-TV giant was fully paid up. As evidence he submitted payment receipts and his DStv decoder smartcard.
Chuks Udo-Kalu now demands an apology from MultiChoice as well as exemplary damages.
“My subscription was still running for more than a month in advance and they disrupted my services. I went in person several times to their offices, they did not do anything about it,” he told The Daily Trust.
Udo-Kalu says he wants the high court to declare MultiChoice in breach of contract, to pay over R300 000 in damages, to reconnect him, and to apologise.
“What they posted on my screen was that my account has been suspended. To my mind it’s like your banker refusing to pay you when you know you have money in your account.”
MultiChoice lawyer fails to appear
“I asked my lawyers to write, they wrote, they replied promising to fix it and they did not, so I came to court.”
So far MultiChoice Nigeria has not filed any documents and MultiChoice’s lawyer also failed to show up on May 23 in court despite agreeing on the court date. Judge Yusuf Halilu has now postponed the case to June 11.
Channel 24 asked MultiChoice Africa to comment on the case but by the end of Monday’s business day there hadn't been a response.
Mandela movie to be released in November
Johannesburg - A film based on Nelson Mandela's bestselling autobiography Long Walk to Freedom will be released in November, producers said on Monday.
The biopic, entitled Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, is to star British actor Idris Elba as the iconic anti-apartheid hero and will trace his life from childhood to imprisonment and presidency in 1994.
"We are honoured to have had Madiba license us the film rights to his fascinating life story," said producer Anant Singh in a statement, using the popular name for Mandela.
Singh said he was pleased when Mandela looked at some of the images of Elba in the trademark Madiba shirt, and remarked, "Is that me?"
"This recognition and affirmation from Madiba is extremely satisfying and makes our journey worthwhile," he said.
Endorsement of Madiba
The book, an inspiration to many, was published in 1994, and has been translated into several languages. Singh was awarded the film rights in 1996.
The film features a host of local actors and was shot at various locations in the Eastern Cape, Mandela's birthplace, Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Producers say it is the only motion picture that has the endorsement of the Mandela and the Nelson Mandela Foundation, the centre that manages his legacy.
Several documentaries and films inspired by the life of the 94-year-old statesman have been made over the years.
Early this year it was announced that The Weinstein Company had acquired the North American distribution rights for the film.
The frail Mandela is currently recuperating at his Johannesburg home following several bouts in hospital for respiratory infections.
Angelina Jolie's aunt dies of breast cancer
Escodido, California - Angelina Jolie's aunt died on Sunday of breast cancer, less than two weeks after Jolie revealed in the New York Times that she had a double mastectomy to avoid the disease.
Debbie Martin died at age 61 at a hospital in Escondido, California, near San Diego, her husband, Ron Martin, told The Associated Press.
Debbie Martin was the younger sister of Jolie's mother, Marcheline Bertrand, whose own death from ovarian cancer in 2007 inspired the surgery that Jolie described in a May 14 op-ed in the New York Times.
According to her husband, Debbie Martin had the same defective BRCA1 gene that Jolie does, but didn't know it until after her 2004 cancer diagnosis.
Ovaries removed
"Had we known, we certainly would have done exactly what Angelina did," Ron Martin said in a phone interview.
Debbie Martin's death was first reported by E! News.
Ron Martin said after getting breast cancer, Debbie Martin had her ovaries removed preventively because she was also at very high genetic risk for ovarian cancer, which has killed several women in her family.
The 37-year-old Jolie said in her op-ed that her doctors estimated that she had a 50% risk of getting ovarian cancer but an 87% risk of breast cancer.
She had her breasts removed first, reducing her likelihood to a mere 5%.
She described the three-step surgical process in detail in the op-ed "because I hope that other women can benefit from my experience".
The story, a surprise to most save those closest to Jolie, spurred a broad discussion of genetic testing and pre-emptive surgery.
A message left with representatives seeking comment from Jolie was not immediately returned.
Neymar signs 5-year deal
Sao Paulo - Brazilian football star Neymar on Monday signed a five-year contract with Spanish powerhouse Barcelona and will travel to Spain next week for the official presentation.
The 21-year star, whose full name is Neymar da Silva Santos Junior, announced his choice on his Instagram account on Saturday after receiving offers from both the Catalan club and their rivals Real Madrid.
"I want to thank the Santos fans for nine incredible years," wrote Neymar, currently a forward for the storied Brazilian team Santos.
Neymar's agent Wagner Ribeiro said his client would be one of Barca's highest paid players, but did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
"He will earn less than (Lionel) Messi, but he will make close to what (fellow Brazilian star) Kaka makes today," the agent told the Gazeta television channel.
"Neymar is on his way to getting the third or fourth highest salary among Barca players."
According to Spanish media, the transfer was valued at between $51.7 million and $64.6 million.

Kelly Rowland admits Beyoncé jealousy
Los Angeles - Kelly Rowland has admitted to being jealous of Beyoncé's success in a new song.
The singer has released a new confessional ballad titled Dirty Laundry, in which she reveals her envy of her former Destiny's Child band-mate's solo success and also sings about a past abusive relationship.
On the track, which Kelly posted on her SoundCloud web page, she laments: "When my sister on stage, killing it like a motherfucker, I was in a rage, feeling it like a motherfucker.
"Went our separate ways but I was happy she was killin' it. Bittersweet she was up, I was down. No lie, I feel good for her but what do I do now?"
"Post-Survivor, she on fire. Who wanna hear my bullshit."
Solo career
Childhood pals Beyoncé, 31, and Kelly, 32, formed their chart-topping girl group in 1992 as young girls and would go on to become worldwide stars together as the band found fame with hits such as Say My Name and Bootylicious.
However, when Beyoncé's solo career began to blossom in 2003, the group disbanded following a final studio album in 2004. The Love on Top singer has gone on to become one of the most successful artists in the world, but Kelly and band-mate Michelle Williams haven't enjoyed the same individual success as their close friend.
Emotionally abused
As well as confessing her envy of her famous pal, Kelly also reveals her emotional torment at the hands of an abusive lover - who tried to break her down by insisting Beyoncé didn't truly care about her.
She sings: "I was battered, he hitting the window like it was me, until it shattered. He pulled me out and said, 'Don't nobody love you but me, not your mama, not your daddy, and especially not Bey."
Kelly recently revealed the biographical song was "emotional" to record and she had to stop herself from crying.
She said: "It was very emotional. It took me days to record. I had to get past being so upset and actually sing the song, not sob through it."
Lindsay Lohan's finds comfort in food
Los Angeles - Lindsay Lohan can't stop eating since her Adderall was taken away.
The 26-year-old actress begged doctors at the Betty Ford Clinic, where she is completing 90 days of court ordered rehab, to allow her to continue to take the psycho-stimulant medication, but after being forced to give it up, she has put on five pounds.
Although Lindsay has claimed she uses the drug to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), friends believe she was using it for weight loss.
A source told RadarOnline: "Lindsay has been extremely emotional this past week and is finding comfort in food. Lindsay can't stop eating, and has gained five pounds because she has such poor eating habits."
Lindsay has no energy
"She has been exercising, but she just doesn't have a lot of energy because she is no longer taking Adderall, which is a psycho-stimulant medication that contains amphetamine. She has been talking to a nutritionist at Betty Ford about eating healthier."
Betty Ford's doctors rarely prescribe anyone over the age of 15 the powerful drug, because they believe there are plenty of alternative treatments and also think that many people misuse the drug to control their weight.
Full team of carers
Lindsay has been assigned a full team of carers - including a psychologist, dietician, chemical dependency technician and physician - who have devised a tailored care plan for her.
The troubled starlet was previously said to have freaked out and ditched her original plan to enter the Seafield Centre in New York for treatment because it doesn't allow its patients to smoke.

“Miracle Babies Seller” Arrested: Sold Twins For N1.5million, Triplets N2.7million [PHOTOS]
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 50-year-old Oby George for feeding desperate barren with seeds, which made them to look pregnant and later steal babies to hand over to them after a ‘cooked up labour’ and ‘delivery’ of their supposed miracle babies.
It was gathered that once these desperate, aging, barren women go to George, believing she had herbs, which could defy medicine and make them pregnant and have normal babies, she would give them some mysterious seeds and herbs to be taking orally.
The seed will make their stomachs and legs to begin to swell, which many of them believe are really signs of pregnancy.
George would warn them never to go for scan or visit any hospital for check up or ante-natal because the babies they were carrying are miracle babies. She was also the person who would tell them when they were due for delivery.
On the expected day of delivery of the miracle babies, she would give them another seed, which would make them to start vomiting and going to the toilet, after wards she would ask them to lie on table and to start pushing because the baby was already coming.
Just to make them believe that their miracle babies were coming, George would push a fist into their private and would keep shouting at them to push.
It was gathered that some of the women used to lose consciousness during the supposed ‘labour,’ apparently due to the seed they had ingested earlier and weakness from incessant vomiting and stooling.
To drive home the point that they had actually delivered the miracle babies, she would slice their private parts with blade, so that they would see blood when they recovered their wits.
The women would later be compelled to use pad after the ‘labour’ and ‘delivery.’ Many of these women are believed to have gone to their various churches to testify how God visited and blessed them with the miracle babies like God did for Hannah in the Bible.
Most of the babies which are given to these women are believed to have been stolen or bought from ‘baby factories’ in eastern part of the country.
Victims are charged according to the sex or number of babies they wanted. Twins go for N1.5million and triplets for N2.7million
Though George lives in Port Harcourt and was arrested in Port Harcourt, but most of her victims seem to be from Lagos State.
George was arrested after one of her victims, Desope Cecelia, 61, who honestly believed she had delivered a set of twin boys, went to a health centre at Festac area for a medical checkup.
The doctor on duty had taken one look at the 61-year-old woman and concluded she could not have bore the twin.
He had immediately alerted area E policemen, Festac. A team of Policemen, led by the area commander, ACP. Dan Okoro had invited Cecilia to the station for questioning. And for hours, Cecilia insisted that she had actually delivered the kids herself.
It took the frank confession of George to convince Cecilia that she had been hood winked by fraudsters.
Narrating how she was duped, Cecilia, who was said to have broken down in tears after George’s confession, said: “It was one lady who told me about Oby’s ability to help women like me get pregnant. She gave me Oby’s phone number; I called her and explained that I was looking for the fruit of the womb. Though I live in Lagos, but I spoke with Oby through phone. She asked to come over to Port Harcourt.
“She said she would give me a seed and herbs to help me conceive. She charged me N1.5 million. I asked for twins, boys. She said I must not go for scan or hospital. She told me that my babies are miracle ones, thus hospital can’t carry out their delivery. When it was nine months, she said I should come again to Port Harcourt to deliver.
“At Port Harcourt, she gave me another seed to eat. I started going to toilet. Later she asked me to lie down on the delivery table. She said I should begin to push. I pushed with all my power. Later I heard the cries of a baby. She asked me to push again, I pushed again and heard cries of another baby. I went to hospital with my babies in Lagos and I don’t even know why police arrested me.”
When police raided the delivery home at Port Harcourt, two other victims were seen.
One of them, Joy Ibe, 43, said she had been searching for a baby for over 18 years now. When she met Oby, she thought her troubles were over.
When Ibe presented herself, she looked pregnant, what with her swollen stomach and legs.
Explaining that she lives in Ajah area of Lagos, Ibe said that one of her neighbours, living overseas gave her Oby’s phone number.
“When I called Oby, she asked me to come down to Port Harcourt. She gave me two herbs and seed. On the day that police arrested me there, she actually asked me to come so that she would check if I was due. I paid N2.7 million for triplets and the treatment. My stomach became swollen and my legs. Even my clothes could no longer fit me. I believed I was pregnant. I was given the impression that I must not go for scan.”
Building her own defence, Oby denied knowing where the babies were brought from. She claimed that it was one Helene Okoro, who used to bring the babies. She further said that her role in the scam was only to provide her home as the delivery place for the ‘babies.’
She further said that one Mr. and Mrs. Tella were also involved. They were actually the people who first sent Cecilia to her.
“The Tellas were the ones treating her before they brought her to my home. They said they wanted her to deliver in my house. They later told me that Helene Okoro would come over to my house for the delivery of Cecilia’s babies. When I saw Okoro, she told me that she could not use her home for the delivery because her husband is a pastor. It is Okoro who usually arranged and brought the babies. On the delivery day, Okoro gave Cecilia something to drink. I was there. It was also Okoro who used blade to cut her private part so that blood would come to show that she had delivered.”
Police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, said police were still working to arrest other fleeing members of the dastardly syndicate.
She added: “This is the latest trend in town now. All barren women or women seeking for fruits of the wombs should hold onto God. People like Oby are still out there.”
BURIAL CRISIS: Community, Church, Family Fight Over Achebe’s Body
The Anglican Church has said it will not release the body of the renowned author, Prof. Chinua Achebe, to the Ogidi community, Anambra State for burial.
Similarly, the church and family of the late professor have said that they will not allow his wife, Christy, to go through the traditional widowhood rites that women who lose their husbands in Igboland are made to undergo.
The Archdeacon of Ogidi and Vicar of St. Philip’s Anglican Church, Ven. Obi Ubaka, told Reporters that the body of Achebe belonged to the church, which shall perform the final rites for the fallen statesman on Thursday, May 23.
The church’s reaction came as Chief S. Okoli, the Regent of Ogidi, Achebe’s hometown, said the late author would be buried at night because he was a titled man.
Okoli had said, “As a titled man, he (Achebe) will be buried towards evening in line with our culture and tradition. His body will lie in state in the yam barn where daughters of the clan shall pay him their last respects before he will be buried in the night.”
But the archdeacon said, “He (Achebe) is going to be buried immediately after the church service at 1 pm in broad daylight. It is not true that he will be buried at night.
“The church won’t hand over the body to the community. Which one has the upper hand; the church or the community? The church has the upper hand in this case. He was a Christian and should be buried in a Christian way,” Ubaka insisted.
Similarly, the Achebe family said the issue of when and how the late author would be buried was not a subject of dispute.
The head of the Umu Ada Achebe (the female members of the family), and niece of the late author, Mrs. Ngozi Ezedum, said in a report that the story that her uncle would be buried at night according to traditional rites was an unfounded speculation.
“He was from a real Christian family. And in the Achebe family, we do things the Christian way,” Ezedum said.
She said the title that Achebe held did not in any way compromise his religion as a Christian. Achebe’s Ozo title is Ugo Belu N’Orji (Eagle on the Iroko).
Ezedum said Achebe’s wife could feel free to come home without fear that she will be made to undergo traditional widowhood rites.
“I have told my uncle’s wife that I am around, nobody will do anything,” the head of the Umu Ada said.
She, however, said other traditional rites like searching for Achebe and taking care of his body by the women would be performed.
She said the Anglican Church in the Niger Diocese had long abolished the widowhood rites because they were repugnant to good conscience.
Such practices include making the widow to shave her head, drink the water used to bathe her husband’s corpse, sit on the floor and sleep in the same room with the corpse.
“She will not even wear any mourning clothe black or white. The Anglican Church doesn’t want that anymore,” Ezedum said.
Meanwhile, preparations for the burial of the late literary icon are ongoing.
His Ikenga Ogidi country home is a beehive of activities as workers, artisans and builders work round the clock to erect a mausoleum, which would serve as his final resting place and obi, the major reception in his compound.
The compound situated on the Ogidi-Abatete Road was cordoned off and only the people working on the project are allowed in.
The main house is also being given a facelift, while a new coat of paint has been added to the perimeter fence.
The entire Ikenga Ogidi community is also being given a face-lift as the Idemili North Local Government Council has been grading roads leading to the family home of the Achebes and the St. Philip Church, where the funeral service will be conducted.
The church building is also being rehabilitated, with dozens of painters, masons, tile layers, iron benders and electricians working on the new church auditorium, which has been selected to host the burial service.
The Archdeacon of the church, Ven. Obi Ubaka, said the family had provided financial assistance to finish the work on the new church building so that it would be ready to host the event.
“The Primate of the Church of Nigeria will lead the officiating ministers. He will be supported by the Archbishop of the Niger, the Most Rev. Christian Efobi, and the Bishop on the Niger, Rt. Rev. Owen Nwokolo,” Ubaka said.
Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Mr. Oseloka Obaze, who was in Ogidi to monitor the level of work on the projects, told Saturday PUNCH that President Goodluck Jonathan and two other heads of state would be present at the burial.
Oseloka denied claims by some family members that the Anambra State Government had not provided substantial financial support for the burial of the author and playwright.
Though he did not want to go into details, Obaze said, “That is categorically wrong. That impression is wrong. Anybody, who has said that is not being forthright. That is wrong,” he said.
Kanye West: I'm the worst celebrity
Los Angeles - Kanye West thinks he is "the worst celebrity".
The Stronger hit-maker - who is expecting his first child with girlfriend Kim Kardashian - launched into a bizarre rap-rant during his performance at the Adult Swim Upfront party in New York on Wednesday, in which he insisted he is too "real" to be thought of as a fame seeker.
He said: "One thing about me, I'm the worst kinda ... celebrity because all I do is make real music. All I do is sit in the studio and make real, real shit. And that's it.
"That's motherfucking it. That's motherfucking it. So I don't want nobody trying to run up on me with no cameras, trying to sell pictures and shit to magazines, asking me no dumbass questions, throwing me off of my focus and shit.
"Harassing you all motherfucking day. I ain't no motherfucking celebrity."
'Don't ask nothing else of me'
''I ain't running for office. I ain't kissing nobody's motherfucking babies. I drop your baby and you sue me and shit.
"I'm trying to make some music that inspires people to be the best they can be. I don't want nobody to ask nothing else of me. Don't ask nothing else of me.
"Motherfuckers chasing you down, 'bout to make you crash and shit and all they want is one nigger to laugh and shit."
Kanye - whose girlfriend tweeted from the audience to say he was "killin' it" on stage - will appear on topical comedy show Saturday Night Live this weekend but went on to insist he won't be appearing in any of the programme's famous sketches.
He added: "Hell nah, I ain't doing no motherfucking SNL skits; this my goddamn life. This ain't no motherfucking joke. That's it. Stop that shit right there."
Rihanna sues Topshop for $5m
Los Angeles - Rihanna is suing Topshop for $5m.
The Diamonds hitmaker is taking legal action against the UK high street fashion chain - which is owned by billionaire Sir Philip Green - following eight months of unsuccessful negotiations over T-shirts bearing her image which are being sold without her consent.
A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Rihanna's management asked Topshop a number of times to stop selling her image and were told, 'We do what we want.' They buy the pictures from a photographer, but they do not pay the artist licensing fees. Unfortunately, UK law does not protect the artist."
'Go to hell'
"What is most offensive for Rihanna is that they basically told her, 'Go to hell. We don't care; we are going to continue selling you.' They offered her $5 000 and said they don't care."
The 25-year-old singer has hired international law firm Reed Smith to file the suit in London, as the garments are only being sold in the UK, where the image rights are owned by the photographer who took the picture.
The source continued: "Topshop is now in the United States. They set up in Manhattan and Nordstrom, but they know better than to do this in the US because they would get in trouble."
'What they are doing is wrong'
"Even though the UK laws don't protect the artist, she has decided to move forward and sue Topshop. She has spent almost $1m in litigation at this point. She says it's the principle, and wants to make a statement about it. They are taking advantage of artists. It is just exploitation. What they are doing is wrong."
The case is now in the discovery stage and Rihanna has handed over details of her deals with fashion house Armani and high street chain River Island.
Though no official spokesperson has commented on the case, a Topshop source said: "This issue is related to a T-shirt provided to Topshop by a third-party supplier. We are aware it is the subject of litigation. [There are] public documents available for inspection in the London court.
"The amount of damages sought has not been articulated anywhere in the claimant's document."
Justin Bieber to pay for monkey business
Berlin - German officials say Justin Bieber will have to pay the bill for his monkey's two month stay at a Munich animal shelter.
A spokesperson for Munich's customs office says the cost of care, food and vet visits for capuchin monkey Mally is several thousand euros (dollars).
Customs spokesperson Thomas Meister says Bieber has until midnight on Friday to claim the monkey seized by authorities on 28 March when the singer failed to produce its papers after landing in Munich on tour.
The shelter says his management company has asked that the 20-week-old monkey be placed in a zoo.
But customs has yet to receive a formal request for that from Bieber or an authorised representative.
Michael Jackson's ex blasts abuse claims
Los Angeles - Debbie Rowe has blasted Wade Robson as "opportunistic".
The former wife of Michael Jackson - who is the mother of the late singer's children Prince Michael, 16 and Paris, 15, - is horrified by Wade's accusations that Michael sexually assaulted him and has branded him a liar.
She told TMZ: "I was angered that Wade Robson reversed his sworn testimony from court in 2005, and now claims to be a victim of sexual abuse.
"His publicity-seeking attempt is opportunistic and just oozes falseness.
"It will be quickly forgotten, and will do nothing, nothing to tarnish Michael's extraordinary legacy."
Michael's acquittal
Wade was one of the witnesses at Michael's child molestation trial in 2005, and his testimony, along with those of his sister and mother, were said to be instrumental in the Billie Jean star's acquittal but he has now changed his story and alleged Michael sexually abused him for seven years.

The 37-year-old actress - who revealed on Tuesday that she had a double mastectomy and reconstruction in February after learning she had an 87% chance of developing breast cancer because she was identified as having the BRCA1 gene mutation - managed to keep her surgeries a secret by refusing to make any changes to her or her six children's busy schedules.
A source told People.com: "Things appeared normal. The kids were in school during the day and attending after-school activities as they always do."
Public appearances
The Salt star continued to make public appearances at events while undergoing treatment, including at the 27th Annual American Society of Cinematographers Awards presentation in Los Angeles on 10 February.
She was also spotted taking her four-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne to the National History Museum in LA with her fiancé Brad Pitt just two days before she had major surgery to remove breast tissue and had fillers inserted on 16 February.
The Oscar-winning actress also travelled to the Democratic Republic of Congo in March to speak to rape survivors.
She didn't reveal her suffering
Journalist Cathy Newman, who joined Angelina on the trip, wrote on Channel 4's website: "I had not the slightest inkling of what she was going through. We travelled for hours to various camps for people displaced by war, along horrendously bumpy, volcanic tracks. For a woman recovering from major surgery, I can only imagine how difficult it must have been."
Brad, who shares four other children, Maddox, 11, Pax, nine, Zahara, eight, and Shiloh, six, with the actress previously revealed that they treated the experience like an "adventure".
He said: "We set up our own little post-op recovery that became pretty fun. You make an adventure out of it.
"[It was] an emotional and beautifully inspiring few months."

Iroko Tree Kills 31 Persons,Leaves 16 Others Injured In Imo State
It was tears and anguish on thursday night in Umudagu, Mbieri community in Mbaitoli council area of Imo state as no fewer than 31 persons have been confirmed dead following the fall of an ancestral Iroko ‘Uko’ tree estimated to have been over 200 years in existence.
The Iroko tree which fell around 8pm, Thursday night, during a rainstorm also left scores of persons injured and about 7 others either buried in the rubble or missing.
The size of the disaster was occasioned by the fact that under the tree is a location of a popular night market simply described as “Ukwu Uko market” meaning the market under the ‘Uko’ tree.
The market usually started at about 3pm everyday and terminated at about 9.30pm or 10pm.
The Iroko tree, our correspondent gathered had been a source of concern to the youths of the village who had repeatedly called for its removal to no avail. Elders of the community had described the Iroko tree as an ancestral landmark that should not be removed.
Ironically, discussion into the removal of the Iroko tree was resumed on the same day of the tragedy(Thursday).
The meeting to agree on modality and necessary appeasements to be carried out before its removal was going on in the town hall near the Ukwu Uko market, when the rain began. The meeting was then adjourned due to the rain and our source who said he was part of the meeting said, “Some of us were still on our way home when we heard the tree crashing down.
On racing back to see what has happened, we met a massive carnage, a scene of blood and mangled flesh. It was a gory sight. And we tried to help as much as we can. Most of our people did not sleep a wink till this morning, as no effort was spared in saving what could be saved.”
A motorcycle operator who spoke at the scene of the disaster said he took part in the rescue and confided that, “Over 35 persons died in this tragedy, without counting those critically injured who were rushed off to the hospital. We loaded three ambulance bus-loads of corpses yesterday night, see my hands, I have not even washed it.”
About five persons were seen wailing in search of their wards who they said were at the market Thursday night but have since not been seen. Digging for those buried in the rubble yielded only more dead bodies.
The dead body of a baby estimated to be about three-year old was said to have also been recovered around 3am Friday morning. A severed leg was also left behind while the body of an aged woman was being recovered from the rubble.
A woman was however rescued alive on Friday morning and rushed off to the hospital.
Rescue efforts were hampered by the sheer size of the tree as it took a caterpillar and other heavy duty machines to move the tree to enable any substantial rescue work.
On the rescue team, were villagers, men of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps, men of the Nigerian Fire Service, some health workers and other security operatives.
The area has totally been crowded by people who came to see for themselves the size of the tragedy.

Anti-Corruption Network Protest At The US Embassy Asking For Visa Ban On Jonathan Ministers Diezani, Adoke, And Orubebe [PHOTOS]
The Anti-Corruption Network (ACN) yesterday protested the non-war against corruption in Nigeria by sending a petition to United States President Barak Obama, citing the dangers of failing to check “corruption with impunity” in the country, and linking it with growing insecurity.
The group led by a former house of representatives member Dino Melaye led protesters to the US Embassy in Abuja to drop a letter demanding that President Obama revoke the visas of key officials of President Goodluck Jonathan’s regime and their families.
“We are deeply concerned that if this gravity of corrupt practices goes on unchecked, unpunished and unabated, it will definitely worsen the unpalatable security situation and challenges we are already facing which its root course could also be traceable to destructive impact of corruption,” the group said in the letter, dated May 16 and routed through the US Ambassador in Nigeria.

Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has been in the news lately. She got married to a couple of years back to an American based bizman, together they have daughter. A couple of days back, Laide Bakare disclosed through her publicist that she was managing the wedding and that her ex was a liar and a polygamist hence her moving out of the marriage to marry another rich dude, Tunde Oriowo.
Miffed by this report, the ex was forced to make some nasty revelations about the thespian, Laide Bakare . He said she’s a whore and can’t ever be a good mother to her daughter.
On the allegation of the man being a polygamist, he said, “how could I have married two women legally in Nigeria? I should be in Jail by now because there is a law that condemns such an act.
How come she has not gone to court but the media for separation? Separation can only come through the court.
American government gave Laide Green card because she is legally married to me, we had a court marriage in Nigeria also. When she was supposed to be a faithful wife, she would leave her matrimonial home to stay with married men in Lagos, all in the name of being actress or career lady.
I couldn’t monitor her because I am not always in Nigeria. In fact, there was a time she left our baby, Similoluwa with me for eight months in America in the name of career lady, I had become a nursing father. I have been trying to manage my home the way I could.”
Under this sector, the man doubts the paternity of their only product, Similoluwa, and he’s said that his doctor may have to carry out a DNA test to put the record straight.
Hear him, “I have made up my mind that my doctor should begin the process of DNA of our daughter to know who is the father, whether Mr. Tunde Oriowo or myself. As we speak, she brought Similoluwa back to Nigeria illegally and as we speak, the child is under her mother’s care.”

Dancer Wade Robson claims Michael Jackson molested him for years
When Michael Jackson was alive, Wade Robson testified in his defense during his child molestation trial. Four years after his death, Wade is claiming he was sexually abused by Michael.
The popular Australian choreographer and former close friend of the late pop legend claimed last week that Michael Jackson sexually abused him from ages 7 through 14, when he regularly stayed at Neverland Ranch. He has filed a lawsuit against the Estate of Michael Jackson asking for compensation for years of abuse.
Wade appeared on the Today Show today and went into detail about his abuse. Wade told Matt Lauer:
"I've lived in silence and denial for 22 years and I can't spend another moment in that...."
"...Michael Jackson was yes, an incredibly talented artist with an incredible gift. He was many things. And he was also a pedophile and a child sexual abuser. He performed sexual acts on me and forced me to perform sexual acts on him."
Well, Michael isn't here to defend himself. And now he wants money? Hmmm. Who believes him?

Aftermath Of NDLEA Arrest, Sunny Ade’s Guitarist Gets Three Years Jail Term
A veteran guitarist, Fatoke Abiodun, was on Tuesday sentenced to three years imprisonment for drug trafficking at the Federal High Court, Lagos.
The 62-year-old Abiodun was a former guitarist with King Sunny Ade, a foremost Nigerian musician.
Abiodun had pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful exportation of 1.575kg of cocaine during his arraignment on February 26, 2013.
Prior to the judgment, defence counsel, Mr. Bayo Onifade, pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy as Abiodun was a husband of three wives with 12 children.
Justice S. Seidu, however, sentenced the convict to three years imprisonment with effect from the date of arrest.
Seidu said, “The appeal of the defence counsel has been taken into consideration and the fact that the convict pleaded guilty as charged without wasting the time of the court was also carefully considered.”
Abiodun was apprehended by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on January 1, 2013, at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.
Abiodun, who played guitar for music star, King Sunny Ade, for over three decades, was caught while attempting to board an Air France flight to Italy.
During a search, two parcels of cocaine weighing 1.575kg were found hidden in the false bottom of his luggage.
Abiodun had blamed poverty for his predicament.
He said, “I can play any kind of guitar but my music career is a sad story. I played for King Sunny Ade for 30 years before I was unceremoniously retired in 2007 without severance benefit. I was unprepared for it and I saw the bitter side of life. This is my first time of trafficking drugs. I did it out of frustration because at my age, I could not provide for my family. I am ashamed of myself.”
Chairman of NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade, however, said stiffer penalty should be meted out to drug offenders.
Giade said, “Punishment must be commensurate with offence to serve as a deterrent to others. The drug is worth millions of naira and the damage to humanity cannot be quantified.”
